Amethyst
Amethyst is a variety of Quartz and the birthstone for those born in February and the zodiac sign Aquarius. The name comes from the Greek word for “intoxicate” as it was thought that Amethyst protected its owner from drunkenness. When Amethyst is heated, it turns yellow/orange, and is known as Citrine. Amethyst is a highly prized stone and an excellent stone for spirituality and contentment. It helps calm the mind and aids in sleep.
