Symbolism

The tree of life is a mystical and magical tree that is well known in many cultures. It represents our connection to all things -- earth, air, water, fire. In Celtic culture, trees were the centre of all that occurred -- the absence of trees would be the absence of life. In Christian tradition, eating from the tree of life is said to grant immortality. In Norse mythology, the tree of life, or Yggdrasil, binds together all realms of existence. This ancient tree represents our connection to our ancestors and also of our individuality. The stages of a tree's growth through the year mirrors that of the cycle of life, similar to the eternal life/re-birth traditions in many religions.

Making Magic

Every part of the pendant is lovingly and thoughtfully handcrafted in my studio. It takes several hours of craftsmanship to create each one of these sacred trees. The necklace will arrive beautifully packaged with an explanation of the symbolism of the tree of life. This is a special and unique gift that won't be found anywhere else. I create with the intention of feeling magic, and sharing that magic with you. I know that when you open the box to see this stunning piece of jewelry, you'll have a moment of magic.

Details

The earrings are handmade in my studio from wire and genuine citrine beads. They measure 0.5" wide by 1" long. I make each pair by hand. Your earrings will vary somewhat from those pictured -- they will be unique to you.

Caring for Your Magic

• Always remove your jewelry before showering, bathing or sleeping.
• Your jewelry can be cleaned with a soft cloth. A small polishing cloth is provided with your set.
• All metals will tarnish over time. This process actually enhances the beauty of the tree, adding additional depth to the trunk and branches. You can use a polishing compound to brighten up the wire if you wish. If you choose to polish your pieces, take care to avoid the gemstones so they are not damaged.

Packaging & Shipping

These earrings are packaged in a jewelry box with a description of the symbolism of the piece and a small polishing cloth. I will mail your purchase in a recyclable padded poly mailer to protect items from weather and damage during shipping.

I ship from Canada, using a variety of carriers. Standard shipping to destinations in Canada and the USA includes tracking. Shipping to other locations may not include tracking. Local pickup is available for those in the Ottawa area.
